Until now, families had to choose: a fenced garden at Rothirsch or Gamsbock, or a private sauna at Steinadler. Since October 2026, that is no longer the case. The garden at Chalet Steinadler is now fenced. That makes Steinadler our first chalet where you get both: a garden where children can play and the dog can run free, and your own sauna after a day in the mountains.

What has changed

There is now a wooden fence around the Steinadler garden, just like at the neighbouring chalets Rothirsch and Gamsbock. That means all three Wilderer Chalets have a fenced garden. For you, this means: open the terrace door, and the children and the dog are outside while you enjoy your coffee in peace.

For children: a garden with a clear boundary

With small children, a fence is more than a detail. The garden now has a clear boundary: playing ball, romping in the snow, running barefoot across the lawn in summer, and you can keep an eye on everything from the terrace. Of course, the fence doesn't replace supervision, but it takes a lot of worry out of the holiday. Inside, everything families need is there anyway: four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large dining table. You can add a high chair and a cot free of charge when booking.

For dogs: running free in your own garden

For guests with a dog, the missing fence used to be the reason to choose Rothirsch or Gamsbock instead. Now the dog can simply head out in the morning at Steinadler too, off the lead and without you glancing over your shoulder to check whether it's setting off towards the forest. After the hike, it settles down on its blanket in front of the fireplace.

Sauna and fenced garden in one chalet

This combination was the most frequent question from families and guests with dogs, and we always had to say no. Not any more. Steinadler has its own outdoor sauna with a large window facing the mountain panorama. From the bathroom, a short path outdoors leads there, and it now also lies within the fenced garden. In the evening, when the children are asleep, the sauna is all yours.
